Setting my own combination took about ten seconds, which beats carrying a key I'd definitely lose. The cable wraps tight around a bike rack and the push-button retract keeps it neat in my bag between rides.
The push-button retract makes rolling the cable back up way less fussy than coiling a chain, and it wraps my scooter to the bike rack in seconds. I do wish the slack button didn't still click when it's locked, since it threw me off the first time, but everything holds tight.
